Meet Ike

Ike is a happy go lucky, energetic, fun and very smart guy! Ike has been in and out of the shelter a few times and unfortunately his last return was after getting hit by a car and his pelvis smashed into many pieces. Thankfully, Friends of the Shelter was able to step in and fund Ike's extensive orthopedic procedure to put the many parts of his pelvis back together again. It is obvious that Ike appreciates this new opportunity for a healthy life as he runs and plays every opportunity he gets to be outside and has wonderful house manners when the time or weather doesn't suit outside play. He has many characteristics typical for his breed - he enjoys herding the dogs he plays with (but plays well with others), he will absolutely patrol the perimeter of his yard however without the physical barrier of a fence, his adventure side takes over and history has shown us he does not have streets smarts (hence getting smacked by a car before), and he is very inquisitive about what you are saying (even thinking) and wants to please you. He is crate trained and housebroken and walks nicely on leash however can be a talker in active situations. Fenced yard required. Vet reference required. Ike is currently in foster care. If you are interested in meeting him, please submit your completed application online through the website, in person to the dog shelter making sure your application is directed to one of our adoption counselors so it is routed to Ike's foster mom, or via fax to the adoption counselors' attention at 614-525-5548. Once your application has been received, we will forward it on to Ike's foster mom to arrange a meeting.

Want to get more exercise? Action is my middle name. My 'let's GO!' lifestyle will keep you motivated to get outside and move. I've got tons of energy, and just like the sun, I'm burning and working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I'll run for miles, chase a ball for hours, and still want to play at the end of the day.
